Shop, Bond, and Discover: A Mother-Daughter Day Out at The Village Shops in Ennis
When was the last time you and your daughter had a truly meaningful outing—one filled with laughter, connection, and maybe a little retail therapy? We found a spot where my daughter and I just had the best day together: The Village Shops in Ennis, TX.
You know how hard it can be to find a place that’s not just about shopping but also feels like a warm hug from your community? Well, The Village is just that. Owned by long-time personal friends who are as kind as they are involved in the community, this family-run vendor mall is the kind of place where you’re treated like part of the family the moment you walk in.
A Place for All the Things She Loves
My daughter has recently been obsessed with all things Kawaii—those cute, Japanese-inspired notebooks and accessories. You know, the ones with all the colorful fur on the front. She’s been begging me to take her to Dallas to fine Kawii-ish things, ANY things, and we just haven’t had the time. So, you can just imagine how her eyes lit up when we found the cutest Kawaii notebooks and journals right here, close to home. Her excitement was contagious, and suddenly, the outing became less about shopping and more about watching her delight in discovering something she truly loved. I watched her browse every notebook, bubble tea accessory and character keychain.
And it wasn’t just her. As we wandered the aisles, we found treasures that everyone loved: Blinky ring for baby, axolotl notebook for daughter, pocketknife for son, men’s face cream for dad and a handknitted blanket for mom (that’s me!) By shopping at The Village Shops and Vendor Mall in Ennis, you are supporting so many families at once… and that feels SO GOOD.
Stop, Shop, Enjoy
It felt so good to slow down, step away from the holiday chaos, and really enjoy the time with my daughter. We even grabbed a simple table outside their shop to sit and talk.
